EastEnders star Aaron Thiara has revealed they have filmed scenes for the 40th anniversary aftermath that fans will never see.
The BBC soap is marking the huge milestone next week, culminating in a live episode that will air the outcome of a public vote to decide whether Denise Fox ends up with Ravi Gulati and Jack Branning.
The show’s stars will only be told which outcome to play moments before the episode starts, with the public vote closing 20 minutes before the episode on Thursday, February 20.
Of course, the outcome will have huge ramifications going forward, and Ravi actor Aaron has revealed that they have filmed consequential scenes for both eventualities, one of which will inevitably end up on the cutting room floor.
“It’s been difficult the last few weeks because we’ve been shooting A and B stuff so we’re in [April’s scenes] at the minute,” he said on This Morning yesterday. “We’ve done versions after the live.”
Co-presenter Ben Shephard then asked: “So you’re shooting loads of stuff that will never come to air depending on what the choice is?”
“Yeah,” Aaron responded. “It’s been double workload – more for [Denise actor] Diane [Parish] really.”
Last week, a trailer for the storyline was released, showing Denise walking through the square soundtracked by Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’, as she receives text from both Jack and Ravi.
They then appear, Denise unsure of which way to turn, before the trailer declares: “Denise decides. You choose.”
