1. Jean puts her walls up
It’s been a harrowing start to the year for the Slater clan. And while Jean has done her best to be there for Stacey, it’s soon clear that the tragedy that unfolded at The Vic has taken its toll on her too.
After Harvey suggests taking Arthur to the football, Jean is quick to shut down the idea. Not long afterwards, the cabbie tries to help his overwhelmed partner for a second time, but she flat out rejects him.
Later, Harvey heads to the café and confides in Kathy about his feelings – which leads the pair to grow closer to one another…
2. Nicola tries to flee
Following her confession about Barney, Nicola summons Zack to Harry’s Barn.
Next, the mum-of-two books a trip to Spain in the hope that she can whisk her family away from Walford and her awkward predicament. However, Teddy throws a spanner in the works when he refuses to go along with the last-minute trip.
3. Alfie offers advice
In light of Tommy’s outburst, Kat continues to struggle with her emotions. However, Big Mo offers some pause for thought when she makes a comment in front of her worried granddaughter.

Alfie further moves the situation along, when he urges Kat to let her guard down in front of her son. As a result, Kat invites Tommy for a one-to-one at the café, and the pair try to talk through their issues.
4. Bianca feels concerned
As Reiss’ send-off looms, Bianca can’t help but feel worried for her struggling sister. Kathy picks up on the situation and throws her support behind Bianca, as the two women discuss whether Sonia should attend her ex-fiancé’s funeral.
Having heard Kathy’s wisdom, Bianca then tries to convince Sonia that she should show her face – but her efforts fail to talk her round.
5. Kathy has an idea
With Martin still on everyone’s mind, Kathy decides to host an event for the men of Albert Square in the hope that they will reflect on their grief.
Later, the café owner shares a warm exchange with Harvey after she returns from visiting her ex-husband Rocky.
6. Kat stresses out
Despite her chat with Tommy, Kat feels on edge when she returns home to find that Mo has left the troubled teenager alone with Bert and Ernie.
As a result, Tommy shuts down, aware that his mum still doesn’t fully trust him.
Having noticed his response, Kat makes an apology to her son before providing him with a new games console. Straight away, Tommy switches on the computer so that he can chat to his new friend. But who exactly is he so eager to converse with?
7. Sonia receives a surprise
After her discussion with Bianca, Sonia is stunned when Debbie’s mum, Brenda, shows up at No 25. There’s no fireworks this time around though, as the pair share a heart-to-heart.
Later in the week, the day of Reiss’ funeral finally arrives. With Sonia on her mind, Bianca organises a surprise baby shower to take place at Harry’s Barn. However, the well-meaning celebration takes a sour turn when Nicola comes out with a remark that causes upset.
Elsewhere, Lily meets up with Tommy on Arthur’s Bench and confides in him about her feelings of loneliness. Wanting to help, Tommy invites her back to his house. As the teens head for No 5D, has Lily found an unlikely confidant?
8. Harvey cheats on Jean
With Martin’s funeral planning underway, Harvey suggests that Kathy should put her name forward to supply refreshments at the event. However, his idea is rebuffed by Jean, who remarks that Ruby has already found a replacement caterer.
Later, Harvey and Kathy meet up for a picnic at the allotments, which leads to a secret kiss…
9. Sharon confronts her rival
Outside No. 3B, Zack bumps into Sharon and drops some excuses into their brief chat.
Before long, Sharon heads over to Harry’s Barn for a chat with Nicola. Once she arrives, the two feisty women enter a head-to-head that unfolds in front of Teddy, Harry and Barney.
As tensions heat up, will secrets come tumbling out?
10. Tommy reveals all
As Tommy continues to chat with his friend, Kat starts to feel concerned about his online activity. Worried, the mum-of-six makes an effort to read through their messages. But it’s not until Alfie urges his partner to address Tommy directly, that the youngster finally reveals who he has been conversing with.
Later, Kat and Alfie take a moment to discuss their son’s confession. While the protective mother struggles to get her head around the situation, Alfie keeps an open mind.

However, the private exchange is overheard by Avani – who shares the sensitive information with no thought for Tommy’s reputation.
