EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders star James Farrar has promised “fireworks” ahead of a terrifying car crash stunt.
Following the discovery that Barney Mitchell is his biological son, Zack Hudson (Farrar) has struggled to keep his distance from the teen, despite Nicola Mitchell’s attempts to warn him off.
Zack considered leaving Walford to be closer to Whitney and Dolly. However, his upcoming plans to take Barney with him will set off a chain reaction that will result in a horrific car crash, endangering the lives of six people.
After hearing the truth about Shireen Bashar’s death, Zack fears his son isn’t safe around Nicola and shares his concerns with the police. Noticing Harry’s reaction to his mum’s arrest, Zack enlists his help to take Barney away.

Farrar discussed Zack’s former romance with Nicola and how his feelings towards her have changed since realising her true colours.
“Yes, there is definitely hatred, but I think like a lot of people in toxic relationships, there is an underlying chemistry between them,” he said.
“They have been romantic in the past, and I think there is part of Zack that would like to get on with Nicola, but her actions at every moment surprise him, and I don’t think he ever realised beforehand that she was capable of such narcissism and manipulation.”
Speaking about the decision to include Harry in his plan, Farrar explained that Zack initially feels “excitement” which “quickly turns into desperation” and then “fear”.

“He sees Harry switch and Zack suddenly realises that his plan is not going the way he wanted it to,” the actor said. “Harry is quite an unpredictable character who reacts on emotions, as does Zack, so it’s the fear of the unknown of how he will react, and how far he will go. Two unpredictable characters in one space can be very dangerous.”
When the truth about Barney’s paternity is finally revealed to the Mitchell clan, Harry has a change of heart and shares Zack’s plan with his parents. Nicola and Teddy try to stop Zack but Harry finds him first and bundles him into the boot of his car before driving off.
Teddy gets a lift from Billy and Honey Mitchell and Nigel Bates, in an attempt to prevent Harry from making a deadly mistake. However, during the chase, one of the cars suddenly swerves off the road and into a lake, trapping some of the passengers inside the vehicle.
The dramatic scenes will play out next week, with Farrar promising “fireworks, danger and tears” ahead for those involved in the crash. Who will make it out alive?
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
