OMG SHOCKING !!! BBC Casualty star issues huge update about James Bond rumours

Casualty star Olly Rix has opened up about rumours he could be the next James Bond admitting

the training he has had to undertake for his role in the long running BBC medical drama is “feeding into it”.

Olly was first seen on screen in Casualty as Clinical Lead Flynn Byron earlier this year but had a long build up to that appearance. Flynn is a former Special Forces medic and his character’s very specific background meant Olly had to train with former members of the Special Forces to get into physical shape for the role.

Although he currently has an intense filming schedule on the show he exclusively told Express.co.uk that he has maintained and adapted the training, which could be beneficial when it comes to possibly landing the role of Bond. “I’m still training with them, and that’s something that we just work out through the day. We improvise, and we address that (his filming schedule) each week, and they write new programmes and they say, ‘right, you get 20 minutes here between scenes – do this’, and then it’s all very intense and all very heavy and quick. But I really like that, and that’s feeding quite nicely into other conversations and other projects, and certainly into the Bond stuff as well, which they absolutely love. So it’s all kind of worked out pretty nicely to be honest,” he said.

The star has been linked to the role of the legendary super spy after it was revealed Al Pacino’s daughter Julie had included him in a photographic portfolio of who should take over the role from Daniel Craig, who departed the franchise after 2021’s No Time To Die.

While no decision has been made about who will take over the role the franchise has been taken over by Amazon MGM Studios which have indicated they are planning on bringing a “fresh” James Bond to the screen while also respecting the franchise’s legacy.

While he waits to hear if he has landed one of the most coveted roles in showbusiness Olly is being kept busy on Casualty where his character has been front and centre of the current Internal Affairs storyline. Although he has only been seen on screens since March 15th the actor has now been working on the show for a year and admits it has been a “whirlwind”. In good news for fans he also revealed he will be around for the shows 40th anniversary next year.

“The whole thing has been quite a whirlwind, it’s brilliant. And we’ve only got 10 episodes on TV to show for it. There, I don’t know, however many there are left in the can, 40-something. We’re running into the next year anniversary coming up,” he said.

Fans were initially unsure of his character when he joined the show but have come around to him in recent weeks and Olly says he is happy with the way Flynn has developed so far and the reaction to him.BBC Casualty star issues huge update about James Bond rumours | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk

“I don’t delve too deeply into fan responses and I think also, as an actor, it can be a pretty dangerous thing to do. I certainly don’t think you can’t try to pander to a fan response. That’s very dangerous territory. But I am sort of vaguely aware of it, and I was pretty confident that might happen (change of opinion).

You don’t want to sort of come into a show fully formed and just present this character and go, ‘there you go – you know everything about you know who he is’. We’re not going to go on any kind of journey if what you see is what you get. It is all static, and there’s no complication there.

“That’s just not rewarding as an actor and I don’t think a show wants to do that either, unless it’s perhaps a small character or prop device, which Flynn isn’t. So if they (fans) have gone on a bit of a journey from maybe disliking the wrapping paper initially to spending a bit more time finding out what’s inside the box when you unwrap it then that’s really good,” he said.
