It was the day of John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) stag do in Emmerdale tonight, and John had only one thing on his mind – revenge.
Over the past few weeks, John has grown increasingly irritated by Aaron’s best friend Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb). The character doesn’t like John, and is often seen expressing this view or trying to wind him up.
Mackenzie had been in charge of organising the stag do, and he decided the activity they’d partake in would be paintballing. He then chose to spend time practicing with a water pistol, adamant he could brush up on his skill and then target John when the day arrived.
As a result of the ongoing tension between them, John also concluded paintballing would be the perfect place to get revenge on Mackenzie. As the game began, John took it way too seriously, while the likes of Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) ran around wailing.

As Mack snuck off, John watched him and decided to follow. Moments later, paintball bullet flew from the bushes and hit John’s arm.
A self-satisfied Mack appeared from the bushes dressed in ghillie suit. He had shot John and won, which pleased him greatly.
In the pub, the awkward vibe continued as Mack watched John drink from the Dingle welly and tell everyone how grateful he is to be part of the family.
As the evening drew in, John brought Aaron home and laid him on the sofa. He was very drunk and didn’t make much sense, but did say that Mackenzie needs telling because he keeps winding John up.

An idea forming, John snuck off and made his way to Butlers Farm. Earlier in the day, Mack had been in charge of sorting the slurry tank out, and was interrupted when John approached for a chat.
With a mask and gloves on, John lifted the pipe and threw it onto the field, causing the contaminated water to start spilling into the road.
In the aftermath of this, Mackenzie will get the blame, but John will be left regretting his idea when he learns his nephew has become unwell.
