Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) discovery that he has a half-brother is bringing him nothing but problems in Emmerdale.
Ross found out that he had a long-lost brother after Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) found a letter addressed to ‘The Family of Emma Barton’. Ross agonised over whether to meet this new family, and in the end his curiosity won out. But now he’s wishing he’d left the worms in the can.
When they met, Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) immediately started pummelling him with questions, ones that were getting a little too close to the family secrets Ross has been keeping for many years. As it became too much, Ross walked away and decided to cut contact.
But Ross underestimated Lewis, who is determined to get the answers he wants. Typical stubborn younger brother.

Lewis is clever and manipulative, and before Ross knows it, he’s worn down and starts spilling the secrets. Unsurprisingly, as a result of this Lewis requests to see Moira.
Ross is reluctant – she’s dealing with the fall-out from the slurry incident, and the fact she killed Lewis’ mum certainly won’t help things – but Ross takes Lewis to her anyway.
Moira is terrified to learn he’s outside and ready to talk. She prepares to meet him but is quickly overwhelmed by the bad memories it dredges up. It turns out though, Lewis isn’t holier than thou either – Moira isn’t the only one keeping a secret of a huge crime.
Just as Ross comes around the idea of Lewis in his life, he learns about the dark side Lewis is hiding – he’s growing cannabis.

Mack gets wind of it and he’s shocked, but shock soon turns to an idea – drugs make money, Moira’s farm needs money, could this be the answer to the farm’s financial woes?
