In 1994, supercouple Blair (Kassie DePaiva) and Todd (Roger Howarth) met for the first time at Rodi’s on One Life To Live. At the time, he was reeling from being dumped by Rebecca, and was still wearing an ankle monitor following his release from Statesville (he had recently been pardoned by the governor). For her part, Blair was smarting over Max. As Todd drowned his sorrows, Blair took the seat next to him at the bar. They struck up a conversation and commiserated about their lousy romantic situations, but the good vibes went south when Blair noticed his ankle bracelet and darted out.

NBC In 1996 on Days of Our Lives, Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) was holding his “Queen of the Night,” Marlena (Deidre Hall), hostage in a cage in Paris. John was poised to be executed for a crime he didn’t commit, and Marlena was desperate to save him. As John was placed in a guillotine, the blade menacingly hanging above him ready to drop, Marlena offered herself to her captor in exchange for him sparing John’s life. Stefano coldly said no. -
ABC In 2005, All My Children’s Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) learned that she had suffered a miscarriage. Not only did she lose the baby that she was expecting (whose father was Ryan Lavery), but Greenlee was rendered unable to carry a child to term. This led to a major storyline in which Kendall volunteered to serve as a surrogate for Greenlee, but wound up using her own egg in combination with Ryan’s sperm, resulting in the birth of Kendall and Ryan’s biological son, Spike. -
JPI In 2012, a back-in-town Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roché) surprised Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) at Wyndemere on General Hospital after luring her there under false pretenses. Alexis was quite shocked, given that Jerry had been presumed dead. When the action resumed the following day, Jerry kissed Alexis — and she smacked him across the face. -
ABC In 2022 on General Hospital, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) had a frank discussion about the offer Dante had made to have Sam, Danny and Scout move in with him and Rocco. Sam had been overwhelmed when he first raised the idea, she admitted, and wondered where they would live. Dante pointed out the benefits of his home (lots of space, walking distance to the kids’ school), but Sam revealed that she didn’t feel comfortable at Dante’s place because that’s where he had lived with Lulu. Dante acknowledged that he did still care about his ex-wife, who had been lingering in a coma since 2020 — but he stressed that he was committed to a life with Sam. “I’m probably always going to miss her, but that part of us that was a couple, that was already over,” Dante professed. “She had moved on. Please don’t let Lulu come between us. I don’t want to lose you.” Sam was quick to assure Dante that she was committed to him, too, and Dante told Sam he could be patient, asking her to let him know when she was ready to move in together.
