EastEnders confirms Patrick and Yolande wedding joy ahead of major incident

EastEnders’ Patrick and Yolande Trueman marry for the second time next week – but the big day is fraught with big drama.

As the morning of the wedding dawns, Patrick is still adamant he’s in no fit state to go through with the nuptials following his recent assault. Can his loved ones persuade him to overcome his fears and make Yolande his wife?

“Patrick is absolutely determined there will be no wedding,” says our Walford insider, “but Yolande is just as determined that she’s going to have her big day! But which of the couple will get their way?”

The rocky road to the altar kicks off with bride Yolande hoping Patrick has made up his mind about postponing things. But he’s still reeling from Oscar’s attack and the drama that followed, and soon makes it clear that he’s sticking to his decision.

Yolande is almost ready to give up hope, but some encouraging words from Denzel inspire her to try to emulate the young lad’s optimism. As far as she’s concerned, the wedding is on – she just has to talk Patrick around to her way of thinking.

While Yolande is working her magic on the groom, Kim and Denise work tirelessly to get everything ready for the ceremony, hoping all their hard graft won’t end up being in vain.

With the guests arriving and the clock ticking, the Fox sisters have almost given up hope and prepare themselves for the worst.

Imagine their joy when the groom arrives with his bride on his arm, both smiling from ear to ear.

“The locals watch on as the loved-up pair exchange their vows,” reveals our source. “Many of them know the long journey Patrick and Yolande have taken to reach this moment. For them to have found each other again and now be marrying a second time proves to everyone that love has no age limit.”

But not everyone is totally ecstatic as the reception gets underway and the celebrations commence.

Howie is clearly struggling over the fact he knew that Oscar was Patrick’s attacker and kept quiet, and that he used this to steal Patrick’s cash for himself. However, nothing can ruin the pair’s big day – well, not yet, anyway…

The community watches as Patrick and Yolande share their first dance. But the good times don’t last for long, as their dream day turns into their worst nightmare when a gunshot is heard in Walford. Which resident gets shot?
