“Chicago Fire S14: Hints at Gabby’s Return?”

Chicago Fire fans were left speculating about the possible return of a beloved character as updates surrounding Season 14 suggest that

Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) could be coming back to the NBC procedural. It’s been six years since Raymund departed Chicago Fire

after portraying Gabby, one of the original cast members, for several seasons. Fans are still reeling from her exit, particularly after her

departure left her former husband, Matt Casey, heartbroken. However, recent developments point to a chance for Gabby’s reunion with the Firehouse 51 family.

Following the announcement that three core characters—Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri), Sam Carver (Jake Lockett), and Jack Damon (Michael Bradway)—will be leaving the show at the start of Season 14, a fresh face is being introduced. Actor Brandon Larracuente is joining Chicago Fire, but what’s intriguing is his history with Wolf Entertainment, as he previously starred in On Call, a show that also featured Raymund. Given his move from On Call to Chicago Fire, some fans believe this could pave the way for Raymund’s potential return.

Who Are the Chicago Fire Season 13 New Cast Members?

Raymund has maintained a solid working relationship with Wolf Entertainment since her exit from Chicago Fire. After starring in Hightown on Starz, Raymund moved on to On Call, where she played Maria Delgado. Though her character was short-lived, this role marked her return to the Wolf Entertainment fold, which could now make her a likely candidate for a Chicago Fire comeback.

Given Larracuente’s recent transition to Chicago Fire, it’s not far-fetched to imagine that Raymund could follow suit. Her previous work with Wolf Entertainment, along with her established rapport with the company, increases the likelihood of Gabby Dawson making a return, either in a guest role or a more permanent stint. Her return could bring much-needed closure to her storyline and would be a highly anticipated moment for fans of the show.

After Gabby left, Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) eventually formed a romance with Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer), a storyline that generated mixed reactions among fans. This romantic shift was a significant obstacle to Gabby’s return, as it would have created unnecessary complications in the dynamics between the characters. With both Casey and Brett now gone from Firehouse 51—Casey having moved to Oregon—the show no longer has to address the awkwardness of Gabby’s return clashing with their relationship.

Now, with fewer entanglements, it would be easier for Chicago Fire to reintroduce Gabby without disturbing existing storylines. Her return could serve as a one-time cameo or even a recurring role, providing fans with the closure they’ve been hoping for.

If Gabby does return to Chicago Fire, it would be an emotional and highly welcomed moment for fans who have followed her journey since the show’s inception. As the series moves forward with new dynamics at Firehouse 51, bringing Gabby back would not only fill a significant gap in the storyline but also bring much-needed nostalgia to long-time viewers. The possible reunion with her former co-workers, including Severide and Stella, would also offer a fresh avenue for compelling drama.
