OMG SHOCKING !!! Hollyoaks airs harrowing first look at Lucas and Ste abuse plot

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode on streaming and to air on E4.

Hollyoaks has kicked off a dark new storyline for Ste and Lucas Hay tonight.

The latest instalment began on an upbeat note, as Ste spoke to Lucas following his brain tumour operation.

All Lucas wanted to hear about was if boyfriend Dillon Ray was doing okay following his trafficking ordeal, but Ste was adamant that his son stop asking about Dillon and focus on his own recovery.

Out on the village, Ste saw Dillon try to steal cash from Liberty Savage’s market stall as he rocked back and forth on the floor proclaiming that he needed more spice. When he saw Ste, he blamed him for his sorry state of mind.

Ste apologised for keeping Dillon away from Lucas and calling him “just an addict”, reflecting on his own past issues.

Realising that Dillon needed to be around people he loved to help both his and Lucas’ recovery, Ste asked him to come and live with the family.

Back at the family home, Ste told his son the news about Dillon, but when Lucas was confused about why, he had to explain he told Dillon to break up with Lucas and stay away from him during his operation and recovery.

“What kind of a dad does that?” Lucas raged. “None of this is okay. You’ve messed with my whole life, Dad.”

As the argument got more heated, the two pushed each other, and Lucas got violent when he punched Ste in the stomach.

As our spoilers confirm, the storyline is set to get even darker next week.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
