EastEnders aired a major update for Johnny Carter and Felix Baker as they considered whether to pursue things further.
The pair have been entwined in recent weeks after they began a casual relationship, though Johnny in particular has started to develop deeper feelings as he pondered if their romance could be taken further.
This week’s scenes saw Johnny consider telling Felix how he truly felt, though he changed his mind at the last minute after Felix shared that he harboured no intentions of settling down, leaving Johnny in a quandary.
Thursday’s (1 May) episode began with Johnny lamenting over his seemingly doomed romance in a conversation with Elaine, though he admitted there was fault with either party given they wanted “different things”.

After softening the blow, Elaine spurred Johnny into action as she remarked that Johnny “wasn’t that boring”, with the lawyer using the barb as a reason to show his wilder side to Felix in a bid to win him over.
Johnny headed to the party and confessed his feelings – albeit a tad awkwardly – to Felix, with the pair agreeing to their first “formal” date. Could their bond be a longer-lasting one than originally anticipated?
While Johnny and Felix are planning their next steps, an insider for the BBC soap recently commented on their burgeoning romance, sharing that a solid relationship could be on the cards in Walford.

“Johnny and Felix are a cute match,” said the insider. “Ever since Linda set her son up with Felix, the attraction has been growing between them – even though they insisted they weren’t into each other at first.
“They’ve casually hooked up, but had agreed that their arrangement was open and relaxed. So, Johnny’s quite nervous to tell Felix he’s had a change of heart, which is why he confides in his gran – he knows he can rely on Elaine for solid dating advice.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
