Hollyoaks actress Isabelle Smith is lacing up her running shoes for the AJ Bell Great Manchester 10K to raise funds for a charity instrumental in supporting her during the soap’s intense sibling sexual abuse (SSA) plot.
Isabelle plays Frankie Osborne, who suffered years of abuse by her twin brother JJ Osborne, portrayed by Ryan Mulvey, on the Channel 4 show.
The story reached a climax earlier this year with JJ receiving a sentence and being added to the sex offenders register.
SARSAS is a non-profit organisation which offers comprehensive help for sexual abuse survivors, provided valuable advice while Hollyoaks developed the storyline.

Hollyoaks actress Isabelle Smith is taking on one of her biggest challenges to date to raise money for a charity which helped her while filming the Channel 4 soap’s groundbreaking sibling sexual abuse (SSA) storyline
Now, Isabelle is lending her support to SARSAS, despite her own health battle which makes running challenging.
Discussing her resolve to take part in the run, the soap star declared: “Running is something that is extremely out of my comfort zone due to my endometriosis but I really want to challenge myself and give back to this wonderful charity.”

She shared an empowering message for those touched by the storyline, stating: “I am not only doing this for them, I am also doing it for every single person out there who relates to Frankie’s storyline.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Emphasising the support available, she added: “You are seen, you are heard and there is help available.
“I still get messages now daily from people that have either watched the show or seen the storyline on TikTok or across social media saying thank you for giving a platform to survivors of this form of abuse because there’s not much attention around it.

“There’s not much research going on and not many people know about it so I’ve been trying to use my platform as much as possible to raise awareness.
“Any donations no matter how small will be greatly received and appreciated.”
