Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (April 15), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks has aired a shocking cliffhanger involving Maxine Minniver – has there been a death in the village?
Maxine went to the police this week when she found out through undercover copper Dodger that Grace and Rex were holding Robbie hostage.
DI Banks reported back this information, and Dodger later overheard Grace’s plans to kill Maxine for her betrayal.
Sure enough, a terrified Maxine was bundled into a van. While it looked like she was kidnapped by Rex, today’s episode revealed that it was in fact Dodger – who warned her about Grace and told her to leave the village.

To defend his actions, Dodger explained his personal reasons for wanting to take down Rex. He found his granddaughter Victoria several years back, and as he was working on a covert operation, he asked his cousin Dennis to look after her.
But things went wrong when Dennis and Victoria were hit by a speeding car – driven by Rex. While Dennis was meant to attend a line-up to identity the culprit, he and Victoria disappeared, with blood found in the house.
Maxine encouraged Dodger to leave the village with her, but she realised that he needed to see through his undercover operation and decided that she and Minnie would leave without him.

Dodger later faced Grace and Rex, who confronted him about Maxine’s police visit. Grace threatened to hurt Myra-Pocahontas and forced him to choose between his lover and his daughter.
Maxine was picked up by Grace, who held her hostage in The Loft and questioned her on who told her about Robbie’s ordeal.
Rex then brought out Dodger, and Maxine tried to protect him by claiming that he didn’t know she was using him for information.

Grace put this to the test and told Dodger to shoot informant Maxine, with even Rex suggesting she was going too far this time.
Dodger took the gun and in a shocking twist, he shot Maxine – proving his ‘loyalty’ to Grace once and for all.
