Casualty has aired a shocking character death in the show’s latest episode.
This series, Cam has had to confront his past when his former mentor Jamie joined the hospital board at Holby.
He also reconnected with old friend Bobby, who accused Jamie of sexually abusing him as a child – and Cam eventually admitted to Siobhan that he too suffered abuse.

As Cam grappled with what to do next, several episodes ago Jamie was reported missing, with little clues about where he could be.
In today’s episode, Iain worked with Rich and the emergency team to deal with a car that had crashed down a steep gorge several days ago.
Rich said there was no sign of life from the driver – discovered to be Jamie – but Iain eventually found a pulse.
Siobhan found out Jamie was being brought into the ED and told Cam. She suggests he keep his distance, but Cam insisted that he help, and he stepped in when Jodie had to leave.

Cam was left alone with Jamie at one point, and he took the opportunity to ask what happened. Jamie said that Bobby had run him off the road, and Dylan overheard this.
He explained to Siobhan that he struggled to be around Jamie, but she told him to go back in and get the answers he needs from him.
Returning to resus, Cam asked Jamie if he was sorry for what he did to him and Bobby, but Jamie denied doing anything.
He told Jamie that he was dying and demanded answers for why he sexually abused him as a child, but Jamie wouldn’t say anything, leaving Cam distraught.

Shortly after this, Jamie’s heart stopped and the team weren’t able to save him, as Cam looked on in horror.
Cam said he didn’t feel any different, but Siobhan reminded him that Jamie was dead and wasn’t able to get to him anymore.
He found out that Dylan had reported what Jamie had said about Bobby to the police and was told that he needed to make a statement.

Cam later had a more positive experience and was able to make amends with baby Chloe’s mum who, in an emotional scene, told him that her death wasn’t his fault.
But he was still distressed by the day’s events, and Cam broke down to Siobhan, saying that if he had supported Bobby earlier, he wouldn’t have done what he did to Jamie.
“This feeling, it’s still in me,” he said. “It’s what I am, and it’s what I’ll always be.”
