Casualty fans are convinced Jacob Masters (played by Charles Venn)

could lose his job as he pushes his colleague Jan Jenning (Di Botcher) to the limits.

The BBC medical drama was back for another nail-biting episode on Saturday

(August 10) providing fans with plenty to feast on. But one running storyline left a number of viewers concerned for Jacob.

Jacob has been on a desperate hunt for his son Blake. After he found out Blake had become a father to a baby called Carter, Jacob became the main carer for the little tot as a result of the mother being in prison, and Blake not present.

But on tonight’s show, Jacob appeared to pushing Jan to her limitations as he appeared distracted from his medical duties. With so much going on, fans worried for the long-standing character.

Heading to X one fan said: “Jacob is pushing Jan to her limit lately. He’ll be lucky to still have a job as a paramedic by the end of this series the way he is going.”

Another viewer added: “Jacob You’re pushing Jan too far.” A third shared: “How many times is Jacob gonna get told ‘not to put them in that position again?’”

But despite some doubts regarding Jacob, things did turn around for him. Later on in the show, Jan revealed that a missing Blake had been spotted.

In a change of events, Jacob was stunned when Jan revealed Blake’s whereabouts. But given the sensitive situation, Jan warned Jacob to tread carefully.

Not long after Jacob saw Blake on the road with a group of other men. Calling out to him from across the road, Blake quickly ran away.
A manic chase then ensued as Blake tried to flee away from his dad. But Jacob was persistent in the chase and finally managed to chase Blake down and discovered where he had been hiding.

But fans were left confused as it looked like the original actor who plays Blake had been recast. One viewer penned: “As far as I’m concerned Blake is still missing because who is this guy??!”

Meanwhile, another said: “So has Blake been recast in #Casualty? And why has Elle not been mentioned once?”
