EastEnders sets up huge new story ahead of shock Walford incident

EastEnders set up a huge new storyline involving Harry Mitchell and Ravi Gulati ahead of a shock incident in Walford.

The pair have been in the thick of the drama in recent weeks as they got involved with drug dealer Okie, with the duo also exploiting Kojo Asare as they moved their drug operation to his flat.

Harry has also faced the wrath of George Knight for his treatment of Kojo, with the tense feud being complicated further by the fact that Harry is romantically involved with George’s daughter, Gina.

Last week, Harry spotted that Okie was carrying a gun, with Ravi later discovering that fact too. He subsequently ordered Harry to dispose of the weapon, with Thursday’s episode (28 August) seeing Harry search for a good hiding spot.

He found a secluded location at the back of a building, with the character placing the firearm underneath a paving slab. Just as he thought he was in the clear, Oscar Branning caught him slinking out of the area and took an interest in the spot.

Harry updated Ravi on why he didn’t hide the gun in Kojo’s flat, explaining that George could enter at any time. Ravi didn’t seem too convinced by his actions, and ordered Harry to bring the gun back to him whilst also changing his locks.

Harry got a shock upon his return to the site, however, as the gun had gone missing. As he frantically began to scramble around the area, he was faced with the prospect of enraging Ravi even more…

While Harry and Ravi will be left scratching their heads as to who found the weapon, viewers can surmise that it is Oscar now in possession of the gun given his interest in the spot, and next week’s scenes will see the storyline take a new turn.

In early-release spoilers, East London will descend into chaos as one resident of Walford is shot by a mystery assailant – given we can guess that Oscar has the firearm, is he the shooter?
