Society
Phyllis wonders to Nick if their daughter is falling in love while in Milan.
Nick doubts it’s love.
Phyllis says it isn’t up to them, and Summer is an adult. She tells him that their daughter doesn’t want to come back and will do anything to avoid Kyle and Claire.
Nick knows that Jack thinks Summer wants Kyle back, and wonders if there’s any truth to it.
Phyllis sarcastically can’t imagine how anybody would ever want someone back who has broken their heart. She just thinks it’s hard for Summer to be there seeing Kyle so in love with Claire.

Nick understands.
They both know that Chance losing his life is not helping the situation.
Phyllis reminds him that Summer has a habit of leaving when she’s hurting.
Nick says their daughter is tough.
Phyllis insists she is not. She clarifies that Summer is not tough like her. She had to be because she didn’t always have someone to lean on.
Nick says Summer will always have the two of them. He changes the subject and wants to know where things stand between her and Cane.

They move to the lounge, and Phyllis wants to make sure Nick won’t judge her.
Nick promises he won’t.
Phyllis can’t believe that Nick wants to be Cane’s ally. She thinks he wants her to be Cane’s ally and report back to him.
Nick isn’t asking her to tell him anything about Cane.
Phyllis doesn’t believe he’s willing to forgive and forget. She wants to know what he wants to get out of this.
Nick wants to believe that she would also prefer peace instead of war.

Phyllis doesn’t think this is something where they can avert a crisis by just shaking hands.
Nick understands why Cane would be on edge after living a lie for so long. He says that she is the closest person to the inner circle Cane has. He hopes she will open the door to an old friend.

Crimson Lights
Nikki wants to know how Claire is doing.
Claire says no one needs to hear her cry about her father anymore.
Nikki says that is what family is for.

It’s still new to Claire, but she is grateful for how she can depend on almost everyone.
Nikki knows it’s hard to accept Victor’s overbearing nature, but insists his reasons are often from a good place.
Claire says his behavior is unforgivable, and she will never look at him the same.

Nikki cautions that it’s not wise to make this decision while grieving.
Claire says it is a choice, and Victor is pushing her away. She thinks he might be right, and it’s time for her to walk away from him.
Nikki admits to having this conversation with Victoria many times over the years, but she always softens.
Claire thinks her mother got worn down. She refuses to wait for happiness and says she and Kyle are moving in together as soon as they find a place.
Nikki wants her to be happy. She knows how strong her granddaughter is and will support her. She hopes Claire gets everything she wants.

Claire doesn’t know what to do about Audra.
Nikki knows she is despicable. She advises that the deal with Victor is over.
Claire says she is still trying to make her think there is something between her and Kyle.
Nikki can’t believe what Claire is saying about the kiss.
Claire refuses to be a timid mouse and is ready to fight back just as dirty.

Nikki shudders to imagine what Claire is talking about.
Claire jokes that she won’t resort to drugging or kidnapping plots.
Nikki is curious about what she has planned.
Claire says Nate deserves to know what Audra is capable of, while Audra deserves what’s coming to her. She vows to blow Audra out of the water!

Chancellor Park Overlook
Audra can’t stand to remember the look on Amy’s face at Damian’s funeral.
Nate remembers telling her that her son was gone.
They recall the drive home and how Amy didn’t eat or speak a word.
They agree to be there for Amy.

Audra reminds Nate that she is there for him, whatever he needs.
Nate says they must talk about Vibrante and what went wrong with Victor.
Audra can’t believe that is what he wants to talk about. She credits her instinct and says that she couldn’t allow Victor to pull her strings forever.

Nate still doesn’t understand the sudden shift in her opinion. He tells her how Victoria assumed Victor was the one who ended the partnership. He feels she is holding back, and he wants to know what really happened.
Audra doesn’t understand his persistence on this issue. It feels like he is accusing her of something.

Nate just wants to know what made her come to this realization. Her attempts to shut this down make him certain there is something he doesn’t want her to know.
Audra is frustrated because Nate won’t give her the slightest bit of credit. She points out how she walked away from Tucker.
Nate wants to know if she is giving up on Vibrante.

Audra believes that hoping would be a mistake, and she must let Vibrante go.
Nate wonders what happens now.
Audra says that Sally has made her an offer at Abbott Communications.
Nate feels like he’s missed a lot of the story and asks her for time to catch up.
Audra is sorry that he feels so out of the loop, but says it was a huge decision for her. She values his advice and opinion, but there has been nothing normal about the past few weeks.
Nate says he supports her decision, but he still thinks there’s more to the story, and he isn’t happy about it.

Cane’s Train
Cane tells Lily that she’s made him quite an offer, but there is nothing to stop him from agreeing to her terms and then doing whatever he wants.

Lily is tired of the conversation and tries to be as direct as she can. She thanks him for pointing out the obvious that she can’t trust him.
Cane thinks there’s another deal they can make. He suggests that she could at least unlock the door to them having another chance.
Lily can’t see into the future but says that for now, the door is closed and locked.

Cane insists that their love is rare and will never die. They can’t agree, so he will talk to the kids himself.
Lily says the kids will be furious, and he needs her help.
Cane shrugs. The kids will eventually forgive him because love can accomplish anything.

Holden enters the train car and stammers that he’s there about a job.
Lily wants to know what kind of job Holden is anxious to see Cane about.
Cane gloats about the job Holden did when he was Dumas and wants him to manage his properties in Genoa City.

Holden and Lily tell Cane how beautiful the service for Damian was.
Lily finds the reunion between Holden and Cane to be interesting. She cautions Holden to stay away from Cane and to watch his back if he doesn’t listen.
Holden says Cane was always a fair boss.
Lily finds it amazing that a man hiding behind a false identity is so great. She tells Cane that what he is asking for is outrageous. She wishes him luck with the kids and leaves. She advises Holden not to say that she didn’t warn him.

Holden tells Cane that his ex has some very definite opinions.
Cane admits that Lily can be passionate about her advice but warns that he is not to ever disrespect her with anyone.
Holden says everything with the properties is going well, and no one knows he’s working for him.

Cane says to add Nick Newman to the list because he needs to know what he’s thinking.
Holden leaves.
Cane calls the twins and leaves a voicemail.

Nick asks about her meeting with Cane.
Phyllis can’t believe Cane never said anything to the twins.
Lily says they are doubting their relationship with their father because he lied to them for the past six years. She wonders how they will ever forgive him.
Phyllis takes it all in and gulps quietly.

The trio sits down, and Phyllis suggests the twins will eventually come around and forgive Cane.
Lily wonders if they ever will. She doesn’t see how they will ever trust him again.
Nick says they will get through this if Cane steps up.
Lily wonders if he will ever step up how he should.
