At the time, Jason was trying to keep Liz at arm’s length, concerned that their involvement would put her in danger. Liz lured Jason to a meeting on the docks, and got him to admit that he was trying to run away from his feelings for her. She voiced that she wished he would stop pushing her away, and he kissed her passionately before exiting. -

The 2012 Daytime Emmy winner for Outstanding Younger Lead Actress, Khalil remained with the show until 2005, then returned the following year, reclaiming the role from recast Davetta Sherwood. Of her first day, Khali recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2023, “My very first scene was with Victoria Rowell [ex-Drucilla], and we had just returned to Genoa City from Paris, and we were in our new apartment. It was amazing to work with Victoria and Kristoff St. John [ex-Neil] as my parents. I learned so much from them, how quickly they were able to turn their talent on and off, and be in the scene and then be out of it. That was magical to me, because I didn’t know how they were doing it. I was lucky that they took me under their wing.” -

Grabbing a moment alone with her outside, Sam’s stepfather, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), felt her out about whether she had told Jason Morgan about the scandalous fact that Sam and Ric had just slept together, a one-night stand they both instantly regretted. Sam said that she had not, explaining, “I couldn’t. Not tonight, anyway.” “Good,” replied Ric. “Then don’t. Don’t tell anybody. Look, Sam, what happened between us has the potential to destroy a lot of lives, or it can simply just go away. Either way, I just think it’s a good idea to keep what happened a secret.” “Fine,” Sam told him. “I won’t tell Jason — or anyone else — that we had sex.” Little did either of them know that both Alexis and Jason had (separately) seen the pair in action and were already wise to their so-called secret! -

Sally thought they both needed to let it go and instead focus on Connor, Chelsea and Adam’s troubled son. Billy resolved to do so and offered to walk Sally to the park. Opposite this, Adam and Chelsea were having a tense conversation about the guilt they were harboring in the wake of the one-night stand they’d had in Baltimore, and how the resulting shift in their dynamic was visible to Connor. Billy and Sally arrived in time to hear a telling snippet of their conversation: Chelsea telling Adam, “I’d much rather Connor pick up on us working as a team than the tension and guilt from that one night.” Sally and Billy exchanged a look of alarm.
