In the storyline, Liz’s marriage to Lucky was on the rocks in light of his drug addiction and infidelity with Maxie, while Jason was heartbroken after catching Sam in a compromising position with her stepfather, Ric. Liz sought out Jason for comfort, climbing up 15 flights of stairs during a blackout to reach his penthouse. There, the duo finally gave in to their long-simmering attraction.

On Days of Our Lives in 2024, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was struck by a car that was being driven by a drunk-driving Fiona Cook — her mother-in-law! Fiona, who had an equally inebriated Brady in the vehicle with her, jumped out of the car to check on the unconscious, bloody victim and was horrified to realize her identity. When Fiona heard her son’s voice, she fled the scene in a panic. Xander, meanwhile, raced to Sarah’s side and frantically tried to minister to his wife.
