Newman Ranch

Adam tells Nick about Cane meeting with Billy and Phyllis.

Nick knows Billy and Phyllis hung on every word Cane said in France.

Adam says that both of them feel cheated out of Chancellor and have an axe to grind with Victor, too.

Nick and Adam.
CBS

Nick agrees. He has to believe that Phyllis won’t turn her back on all the people she’s known in town over the years, though!

Victor enters and insists that they all know Phyllis would sell her firstborn to get what she wants.

Nick shrugs. He knows Phyllis can be selfish, but reminds his father that she will always do what’s best for her kids.

Adam points out that Phyllis is often misguided about what is best for her kids.

Nick reminds them that Marchetti is a part of Jabot and Summer is Phyllis’s daughter.

Victor.
CBS

Victor says that Kyle is the one who manipulated Summer into selling Marchetti to Jabot.

Nick remembers it differently and suggests it was Summer’s idea.

Victor says the Abbotts want Nick to believe that.

Nick.
CBS

Adam suggests that his father let the war with Cane go so they can focus on Cane. He says that Newman is about to expose Cane as Dumas.

Nick is surprised it hasn’t leaked sooner.

Victor gives Adam the go-ahead. Victoria enters the room. Victor says he’s glad to see her and tells her they were just about to discuss strategy for taking down Cane.

Victoria puts that aside and asks her brothers to give her the room so she can speak to their father alone.

Nick and Victoria.
CBS

Nick wants to know what has his sister so upset.

Victoria thanks Nick and Adam for all their support.

Adam reads the room and leaves with Nick in tow.

Victoria asserts that she and her father both know how low he is capable of sinking.

Victor wants to know what she is talking about.

Victoria.
CBS

Victoria accuses him of using Audra to try and break up Kyle and Claire. She is furious with herself for not seeing this coming.

Victor insists he doesn’t want Claire to get hurt.

Victoria says that Claire is hurting because he is trying to make Kyle look bad.

Victor doesn’t see the big deal. He’s heard his daughter out and tells her that it’s now his turn to talk.

Victoria begs him to see how this is an all-too-familiar scene.

Victor doesn’t think he was ever wrong in her case.

Victoria says that he took away her right to learn that for herself, and reminds him that he nearly ruined their relationship. She wanted to cut ties with him numerous times, but couldn’t because she loves him too much.

Victor.
CBS

Victor says that is the point. He loves her, and he loves Claire, and he only wants to protect them.

Victoria is afraid that his relationship with Claire will not survive this.

Victor says that won’t happen.

Victoria cautions that Claire is a Newman and she’s as stubborn as her grandfather.

Victor insists that everything he does is out of love, and he doesn’t want to see Claire’s heart get broken.

Victoria says it is being broken by him and not Kyle.

Victor tells his daughter that was an unkind thing to say.

Victoria knows it’s hard to hear, but it’s true.

Victoria and Victor.
CBS

Victor suggests that Kyle has them all fooled.

Victoria says that his history with the Abbotts doesn’t mean that Kyle will hurt Claire. She begs him to let this go and allow Claire to find her own way.

Victor hugs his daughter and lets out a sigh.

Society

Jack and Cane meet in the restaurant. Jack still doesn’t understand why Cane invited him and Diane to Nice.

Cane says he planned to meet with everyone individually, but the events that transpired derailed his plans. He thanks Jack for attending and insists that a conversation between just the two of them is long overdue. He promises Jack that he is not a threat to him and apologizes for Carter’s actions.

Jack and Cane.
CBS

Jack tells Cane he has kept him in the dark about his intentions and suggests he fill him in now.

Cane inquires about Jack’s interest in selling his stake in Abbott Communications.

Jack wonders why Cane wants his stake.

Jack and Cane.
CBS

Cane thinks it’s a wise investment and is certain they can reach an agreement.

Jack reminds Cane that his short time as Billy’s brother was based on a lie, and he isn’t sure what he is being honest about.

Cane can see the anger in Jack’s eyes and accuses him of not being the only one behind a facade.

Jack informs him that he has no plans of doing business with him and advises him to leave Genoa City.

Cane is sorry to hear that Jack isn’t interested in selling, but he isn’t there to win a popularity contest. He says he is there on business and that Billy is interested in deepening their connection.

Jack and Cane.
CBS

Jack doesn’t understand why Cane is so set on adding to his vast empire. He wants to know what Cane really wants.

Cane insists that Dumas is done.

Jack doesn’t think that whatever Cane has planned will help him win back Lily.

Cane cuts him off and instructs him to accept that he isn’t going anywhere.

Jack stands and warns him to remember the scope of power and tenacity of the people he is making enemies of in town.

Jack and Cane.
CBS

Chancellor Park

Sally and Billy meet in the park. She informs him that she has an event planner all set for the launch party.

Billy is short with words and obviously has something on his mind.

Sally wants to know what is going on.

Billy tells her about his conversation with Jack. He’s beginning to feel that warning his brother about Cane’s plan will not be able to stop him.

Sally hopes he isn’t still considering helping Cane steal Jabot.

Billy and Sally.
CBS

Billy can’t go along with Cane’s plan, but he believes having an Abbott in a seat at the table if his plan works is worth it.

Sally knows his family will see it as a betrayal.

Billy thinks there is a way to get back Chancellor without Cane’s help. He tells her about how Jack wants him to play along with Cane.

Sally and Billy.
CBS

Sally begs him to see what a bad idea this is.

Billy doesn’t believe Cane is to blame for the deaths in France. He won’t choose Cane over his family like his mother has.

Sally sees that nothing has really changed, and Billy is still out to prove his mother and everyone else wrong. She wants to know about Abbott Communications because she is ready to make it happen. She calls out the unfairness of having to wait while he works another angle to get back Chancellor.

Billy.
CBS

Billy agrees that it’s not fair.

Sally wants more than an apology and tells him that he needs to step aside and allow her to run it if he isn’t going to lead. She sees no point in waiting and reminds him how they are sitting on the huge media piece about Cane being Dumas.

Billy says that he believes she is right.

Sally didn’t expect him to admit it so easily.

Billy is confident he will get Chancellor back and says she should be running Abbott Communications with his blessing.

Sally thanks him, and they seal the deal with a kiss.

Sally and Billy.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Nick and Adam assume Victoria wants to discuss how Victor keeps meddling with Kyle and Claire’s relationship.

Nick reminds his brother that he’s had a front row seat to their father’s interference with Victoria for decades.

Adam is sure Victor has made his opinion of all their relationships known and wonders why Claire should miss out.

Adam and Nick.
CBS

They enjoy a brief chuckle.

Billy enters and is glad to see Nick recovering nicely.

Adam suggests everyone but Billy wants to steer clear of Cane.

Billy wants to know what he means.

Adam clarifies that he and Cane have been seen putting their heads together, and that makes him wonder what it’s all about.

Billy, Nick, and Adam.
CBS

Billy accuses Adam of hiring a private investigator to follow him around. He finds that to be aggressive, even with Adam being so threatened by his good looks and business acumen.

Nick laughs and sips his coffee.

Adam advises Billy that he should do a better job of keeping meetings a secret.

Billy calls out Adam for being very good at keeping secrets.

Nick.
CBS

Nick jumps in and says he knows that Billy isn’t stupid. He wants to know if Cane plans to go after more than Chancellor.

Billy refuses to discuss Cane’s intentions.

Adam wants to know if Billy will discuss his own.

Billy, Nick, and Adam.
CBS

Billy is flattered by their obsession with him, but he isn’t going to tell them anything he is thinking.

Nick invokes Victoria and the kids as being enough reason for Billy to tell them what Cane has planned.

Billy says he would never harm Victoria or his children. The only person he wants to see fall is Victor.

Billy.
CBS

Nick warns Billy that if he makes a move towards Newman or Chancellor, he will have an enemy in him.

Billy says that Victor doesn’t want or care about Chancellor and that it was just a new toy for Nikki to play with.

Nick gets loud and refuses to allow Billy to talk about his mom that way.

Billy reminds Nick about how the Newmans sell each other out all the time.

Nick suggests Billy has a shot to walk away with a shred of decency.

Billy says that’s more than Victor will have when he’s done with him, and walks out.

Nick thanks Adam for keeping him in check.

They agree that Cane has Billy in his back pocket.

Nick, Adam, and Billy.
CBS

Abbott Mansion

Jack comes in still fuming from his meeting with Cane.

Diane meets him and senses his meeting with Cane didn’t go well.

Jack warns that Cane isn’t going anywhere and is targeting them all. He advises they must prepare for battle.

Jack and Diane.
CBS

Diane hopes there are no members of their family who would be disloyal.

Jack says he has no reason to think so. He tells her how he turned down Cane’s offer and urged him to leave town.

Diane hopes that will help Cane see Billy as a valuable ally.

Jack doesn’t like putting all their futures in Billy’s hands.

Jack and Diane.
CBS

Diane reminds him that they both know how unreliable Billy can be.

Jack wants to believe Billy would never betray their father by letting Cane get ahold of Jabot. He doesn’t believe Cane’s plan will convince Lily to love him again.

Diane feels Cane is just lashing out in anger because Lily isn’t falling for him again.

Jack and Diane.
CBS

Cane sits alone in the park. He calls Lily and tells her that he’s sorry he missed her when she came by. He hopes she still wants to meet because they have a lot to say to each other.
